Stories that change us.

The stories we tell ourselves.

The stories we tell each other.

They help us understand.

They change how we feel.

Stories expressed through film change us in intellectual, sensual & emotional ways all at once.

I work closely with people, with communities and organisations of all kinds to first understand, then communicate who they are and celebrate what they do in the most beautiful way I can.

Sharing our struggles, our victories, and our truth takes us all deeper into understanding and connection.

SELECTIONS OF PAST WORK

Below is a variety of examples of work from the last 20 years – promos, digital art, music videos and short documentaries.

Many are personal stories that people have shared within the context of community focussed arts projects.

In that context, I've taught filmmaking skills to people of all ages & backgrounds along the way to making their own films. This has been a great privilege.

My Story

As well as working in a variety of professional crew roles in the film industry and making upwards of 40 mostly short films, my career as an artist takes in professional play writing, dramaturgy, community art, digital art making & producing.

I am fascinated in the art & craft of story, and the role story has in making meaning and identity and in personal and social change.

Stories expressed through the moving image, through colour, composition, rhythm, collision & connection through editing, music and sound have the unique ability to move us in a sensual, visceral, emotional and intellectual way all at once.

That’s why I continue to be fascinated by making films.

My thanks goes to Kickstart Arts for their permission to host these videos I made for them.
Also I'd like to thank photographers Fred Assenheimer & Yolanda Zarins for their images.
